Rijksmuseum Boerhaave pop-up exhibition: The power of plasma!

Updated: Nov 13, 2023

Blood donation at a blood bank is well-known, however, not everyone knows that you can also donate plasma! The demand for plasma is increasing every year and plasma helps treating more than a hundred conditions. Rijksmuseum Boerhaave contributes to increasing awareness of plasma donation in collaboration with Sanquin. The Boerhaave National Museum offers visitors a glimpse into Dutch scientific history and works closely with today's science. In a pop-up exhibition “The Power of Plasma!”, visitors are introduced to the 'liquid gold'. The exhibition consists of explanations about plasma and interactive elements, such as videos with personal stories and dilemmas that encourage visitors to think about the possibility of donating blood and plasma themselves. There is also an aesthetic laboratory with, among other things, historical objects from the Rijksmuseum Boerhaave! The exhibition can be seen until February 8, 2024.
